Program Fees

Study-in-America

Study-in-America (SIA) participants pay a one-time Program Fee, which covers additional costs associated with the field location for the program. Visit the Study in America Programs page for fees for specific SIA programs.

Global Career Accelerator

In addition to tuition, a $1,800 Global Career Accelerator (GCA) fee will be charged to students, covering additional costs associated with the program. Visit the GCA website for more information.

Financial Assistance

Financial Aid

Financial Aid received by FAFSA/the Department of Education can generally be applied to extension course tuition. Extension courses are considered part of your course load for the purpose of determining eligibility for the amount of federal financial aid received by Texas State students.

Students enrolled solely in extension studies courses and not seeking a degree may not be eligible for Financial Aid.

Program fees for Study in America and the Global Career Accelerator are generally eligible for financial aid, but this is not guaranteed. Please reach out to TXST One Stop to confirm if your award will cover these fees.

State Waivers and Benefits

If you are eligible for tuition assistance, please review the terms of your specific benefit to determine applicability as it relates to extension courses. In most instances, tuition benefits only cover courses that are formula funded. Because extension courses are not formula funded courses, they would not be covered by a benefit that requires enrollment in a formula funded course. Examples of tuition benefits that do not cover extension include (but are not limited to) exemptions and waivers offered by the state of Texas such as Hazelwood, and state veterans' benefits.

Tuition Assistance

An example of applicable tuition assistance includes Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan (Texas Tomorrow Fund). If your tuition assistance does cover extension you will need to submit your tuition waiver or exemption to TXST One Stop. While the waiver should automatically be applied to your bill, reach out to extension@txstate.edu if you experience any issues.
