This program includes pre-program orientation meetings on the Texas State University campus in the Fall 2023 semester.
This program will meet for class on the Texas State University campus during the Spring 2024 semester, and will also include a six-day field trip to study fashion merchandising in New York City in January 2024.
As part of the program experience, students get an in-depth look at the fashion industry, learn from industry professionals, and witness how this multifaceted industry offers exciting careers within merchandising, wholesale, styling, trend, and retail analytics. Students have the opportunity to incorporate real-world situations into experience and witness and practice critical concepts that are relevant to their Fashion Merchandising degree.
Assignments and seminars focus on the key forces driving change in the retail industry, focusing on trends that will matter most. Students also have the opportunity to build upon future partnerships and mentoring relationships, as well as explore internship opportunities for the future.

Participants must be accepted juniors or seniors in good academic standing in the School of Family and Consumer Sciences.
Space is currently limited to up to 18 students.

FM 4320. Fashion Merchandising in Domestic Markets.
An on-site study of domestic fashion market centers. Course examines the design, production, and distribution of fashion products and services at various market levels. Repeatable for credit with different emphasis.

Drop Refund - Refunds for a dropped extension course are given according to university policy for regular university courses on campus. Refer to the Registrar's Web site for more information.

Depending on your financial aid eligibility, it may cover tuition, fees, and the program fee. The only cost for students is the expenses in the non-program fee such as airfare, personal meals, etc.
It is! Both programs provide a travel aspect to the course offering. Study in America focuses on domestic destinations, shorter traveling periods, and is more cost-efficient for the student.
