Introducing TXST Career Connect

TXST Career Connect is a new, structured internship program that places motivated Texas State University students with regional employers and civic organizations for credit-bearing, semester-long experiences. ​We handle the student matching, orientation, and academic oversight. You provide the opportunity.

Who We Look For

TXST Career Connect is built for organizations that are invested in Central Texas — regional businesses, civic entities, and public-sector organizations that shape life in this community.​​

What We Ask

The Internship:​

  • Substantive, skill-based work — not primarily as reception or observational
  • Approximately 6 hours per week over the semester (90 hours total)
  • Remote, hybrid, or in-person — your preference​

 The Mentor:​

  • A named supervisor with relevant professional experience​
  • Attends a brief TXST orientation before the semester begins
  • Completes two short student assessments — mid-point and end of term​

 The Deliverable:​

  • Each intern produces at least one tangible work product they can include in their professional portfolio​
