Overview

Medical and health services managers plan, direct, and coordinate the business activities of healthcare providers (BLS.gov). Graduates of the Master in Healthcare Administration program are involved with the daily operations of a medical facility, particularly staffing, efficiency and finance. Graduates often work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes and outpatient clinics.

Healthcare is growing at a faster rate than most industries. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates that healthcare employment will grow 32% from 2020 to 2030, creating about 139,600 new jobs.

Technical requirements for this role are aligned with the Health Leadership Alliance and the American College of Healthcare Executives. The competencies and professional certifications integrated into our programs at the School of Health Administration are directly aligned with these organizations. 

The Executive Delivery modality of the M.H.A. is offered fully online and is specifically designed to meet the needs of working professionals in healthcare. Participants in the Executive Delivery modality of the M.H.A. must meet certain requirements:

  • 5 years experience as a manager or provider in healthcare
  • Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university
  • GPA of 2.75
  • Must have taken statistics, economics, & financial accounting (passed with a C or better)
