The Mobile Storytelling Studio is a high school digital storytelling summer program at Texas State University focused on media production, communication skills, and creative storytelling.
In this course in the Pre-College Summer Intensive Series, students gain hands-on experience in storytelling, media production workflow, and on-camera communication in a professional broadcase environment while building portfolio-ready work.
This program is a good match if your student is curious about careers in television, sports media, video production, or digital journalism. No prior experience is required — just a smartphone and a willingness to get in front of (and behind) the camera.
Enrollment is capped at 15 students. Limited seats available.

Dan brings nine years of professional television experience into the classroom. He worked as a news writer, reporter, sports anchor, and sports director at stations in Boston, Oklahoma, and Texas, starting his career at WHDH-TV in Boston. He's a three-time winner of the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters Outstanding Achievement Award for best sportscast, and has additional OAB wins in spot news and general news.
At Texas State, Dan teaches in the Electronic Media program and serves as executive producer of the university's Global News Relay entry, a 24-hour live international broadcast featuring universities across the U.S., Asia, Canada, and Europe. He's also the host of the Texas State Big Ideas podcast, available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
